Roland Pre-cut Hearts of Palm are the prized edible hearts of young palm trees. They have a silky texture and a delicate flavor resembling that of an artichoke. The tender white stalks come from the top 3 feet of a wild palm tree.
Use cold in a variety of salad and appetizer dishes. When heated, they are usually served with hollandaise, white cream or a rich cheese sauce. Because of their citric acid pack, hearts of palm should be rinsed in cold water before using.
